Safeguarding at Illuminate Care
At Illuminate Care, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. We are fully committed to protecting the children, young people, and families we work with from harm, neglect, exploitation, and abuse. We believe that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and we ensure that all staff are trained, supported, and equipped to act swiftly and appropriately if concerns arise.
🔐 Our Safeguarding Commitment
We create safe, nurturing environments where children and young people feel heard, respected, and protected. All of our services – including schools, residential homes, and supported accommodation – follow strict safeguarding procedures and meet all local and national safeguarding standards.
All staff undergo:
-
Enhanced DBS checks before starting employment
-
Regular safeguarding and child protection training
-
Ongoing supervision to ensure high standards of care
-
Clear policies and reporting procedures
We work closely with local safeguarding partners in Doncaster and Lincolnshire (Lincs) to ensure we are fully aligned with regional protocols and best practices.
👥 Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs)
Each of our services has a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Deputy DSL responsible for overseeing and managing any concerns or referrals. These individuals are trained to a high level and act as the first point of contact for children, staff, and families.
📞 How to Report a Concern
If you have a safeguarding concern about a child or young person in our care, or would like advice or support, please don’t hesitate to contact us or the appropriate local authority.
